The Round To Cheer For Another Team
For a spot in the finals, or to get second spot and the important home final in week one, fans are going to want other clubs to win. Eagles’ fans need the Dockers to win, a lot of other fans will want Collingwood to win, although they just want Adelaide to lose.
Adelaide - Richmond
The Crows can assure themselves of a spot in the finals with a win, but they could also get there by other teams losing. A Richmond win would be very helpful.
Brisbane - Adelaide
Nothing really matters for them, but if the Crows keep winning then the Lions can point out that not only did they have a better season than expected but they just missed the finals due to being beaten twice by the champions.
Carlton - Richmond
Carlton might be able to get the first and second picks in the AFL draft, the perfect way to start rebuilding the team.
Collingwood - Sydney
They didn't want Sydney to win for round 21, but in round 22 if Sydney can defeat Hawthorn it will move Collingwood up a spot or two.
Essendon - Western Bulldogs
If the Bulldogs win it will improve the Bombers' draft position.
Fremantle - Essendon
They don't really have a lot to cheer for, except for the Eagles to lose. The Dockers could also stop West Coast from getting second spot by sending a very young team to play the Power, putting Ibbotson on Chad Cornes might help his development as a player but it could allow the Power to have a big, percentage-boosting win.
Geelong - Essendon
The Cats would probably prefer the Eagles to not finish in second spot.
Hawthorn - Essendon and Fremantle
The Hawks can still finish in second, it is difficult but possible.
Kangaroos - Sydney
The Kangaroos would like to finish in the top 4, and that might set up a final against Geelong, a team they do not sweat. But they will need Sydney to beat Hawthorn.
Melbourne - Richmond
If Melbourne lose, and Richmond win, the top pick could be given to Melbourne.
Port Adelaide - Essendon
The Power want to finish in second spot.
Richmond - Carlton
The Tigers get the top pick if Carlton win.
St Kilda - Collingwood
The Saints can't sneak into the finals if Adelaide win.
Sydney - Collingwood
They can't really move up, so they don't want to move down a spot.
West Coast - Fremantle
If the Eagles want to finish in second spot, they will need the Dockers to either win or keep the game close when they visit the Power.
Western Bulldogs - Adelaide
Not a lot of importance regarding the other matches, but some of their fans might like to see Collingwood lose.
