The AFL Insider SuperCoach Round 3 Team
A couple of players were moved on as there was better value around. The midfield is working well, the ruck combination should be very good now, the back line has a couple of good performers and a few more who have not achieved their potential while the forward line had an injury and a couple of players who were a bit quiet. Still this is better than the AFL Insider Dream Team which started the season with players like Brock McLean and Jason Roe, and also had Hall last round.

Polak and Koschitzke have been very good in the defensive spots on this fantasy team. The other defenders have been a bit inconsistent. Mundy and Pratt have shown some improvement and should be better next round. Birchall had a quiet game in round 2, as did Raines and Dempster.
Hasleby, Salopek, Lewis and Murphy have been very good, far better than their initial fantasy prices suggested. Mitchell has been solid. Luke Hodge was traded away, time to get on the Gibbs fantasy bandwagon. Hasleby gets the rotating captaincy for this round.
Hudson played very well against the Bulldogs. Griffin played for fantasy points in round 2 with Cox out. Griffin was solid, and was as good as Lade and some other big fantasy ruckman for round 2 points. Cox playing, assuming he does, will obviously help in round 3.
G Ablett continues to be an elite fantasy player. Jones and Cornes are close to that, but there have been occasions during the first couple of rounds when they went a bit missing during the games. Franklin is covering a lot of ground, which should be good for fantasy points, he will hopefully increase his goals production too. Hall was hurt, couldn't plan for that. Waite could be going back to the back line, they might need his extra height, so his points could pick up. One Lion, Brown, was exchanged for another, Brennan. That probably means that Brown will kick 12 goals this round, but the move was made because for Brown's fantasy price you could get 2.3 Jared Brennans, so Brennan was good value.
N Riewoldt or Tredrea were nearly brought onto the team. Riewoldt's price is just too big to play him in his first game back, or maybe not as he could bring down 15 marks against the shorter Bulldogs, Tredrea is around two thirds of the price of Riewoldt but a lot of his injury problems seem to be recurring so there is some risk in signing him. Lucas was another forward who was considered, as he is playing better than nearly anyone, and Brad Miller came into consideration as the rest of the tall forwards at Melbourne are out. Rodan was a possible choice for a midfield spot too, but Gibbs should continue to have a bigger role for his team.
Next week, assuming that nobody is injured which could force a trade, there might be one trade made to upgrade a position. Maybe Sinclair, or a Fisher, could strengthen the back line. Tredrea, or N Riewoldt, might have proved they are ready with a big round 3 game and they are added to the forwards.

Gilham would be a good addition to a fantasy team. With Croad and Thorp out of the team there is a big role available for Gilham.
