The AFL Insider SuperCoach Round 12 Team - Update

No changes since last week as the teams have been locked for the two weeks of the split round. Scott West was more than a useful addition, although as Joel Selwood was one of the players sold to acquire him it didn't look too good as Selwood had his best game of the season. But it is usually better to have a veteran star than to depend too much on a first year player. The strategy of making a player who is playing against Carlton a fantasy captain sort of worked, as Mitchell had a big game but if only Hodge was still on the team it would have been a much better result.

There are plenty of fantasy points possible tonight with Polak and Raines still to play. McPhee was one of the best players in the last quarter against Port Adelaide and that late game spurt provided a large amount of fantasy points.

West played well, and even kicked a goal, last week. The trade was West and Dzufer in with Gibbs and J Selwood out, Dzufer didn't play against the Cats but if the Lions keep losing games they will probably play him. Judd probably gets the captaincy next week, although Hasleby does play against the Blues in what could be another high-scoring game.

Hudson continued his solid play while White plays tonight. With Simmonds not ready to return for the Tigers, White should get the better of Pattison and have plenty of stats.

If Hall and Riewoldt each kick 10 goals this weekend, this team will be great for round 12. Both players should have big games due to other players not being available. Hall should kick goals against Collingwood who are missing half their back line and Riewoldt could be used even more than usual as the Saints don't have Gehrig this week.

Xavier Ellis played another game last week, he doesn't do anything wrong for Hawthorn but they don't give him enough time to do a lot of things right. More good news for players on the fantasy bench with Shannon Cox back into the Collingwood team, he was going along very well until his indiscretion in Adelaide. Campbell played last week instead of Franklin, it wasn't one of Campbell's better games as the Crows had that game under control.
