Saints Order An Extra Large From NSW
Craig Bird, Taylor Walker and James Wilsen could all become star players after joining their AFL cubs through the NSW scholarship program. St Kilda have already plundered big-man Khan Haretuku from NSW and have now added an even larger prospect.

"Reaching out to our next generation players is all a part of our job and thinking "outside the square" to get the best result is crucial. A 208cm 17 year old is hard to come by but there's a lot of potential in Blake and we look forward to developing him to become an AFL ruckman," said Recruiting Manager, John Peake.
The other Scholarship holders are:
Josh Duncan - 16 year old from Pennant Hills
Kane Murphy - 15 year old from St Ignatius Riverview
Khan Haretuku from the 2007 program is now at St Kilda on our NSW Scholarship Rookie List

King and M Gardiner could be one and done, only playing this season, so it is a good idea for the Saints to continue to bring in size. On the rookie list, Van Rheenen and Haretuku are some large bodies, and this new potential player is a bit taller too. It is certainly a different look at the Saints than when Jason Blake had to play large minutes in the ruck. Thank you for the comment.
