Player Of The Week
It has to be Brad Johnson who was the best player in round 1. Turning the game with some contested marks and skilful goals, there were times when the Bulldogs looked in a lot of trouble before Johnson came to the rescue.
An accidental elbow to the head didn't even stop him as he dominated the second half. Within a minute or two of taking a shot to his cranium, he was back on the ground and had kicked a goal.
When the ball wasn't getting forward, Johnson would go up the ground for some of his 22 possessions. His 9 marks were often taken at crucial parts of the game, and his 5 goals were the difference between winning his 300th game and losing.
