Player Breaks Goal Post In VFL Game

Mathew Westfield will be back on the lists of AFL scouts after he snapped a goal post during the Tasmania versus Coburg VFL game. Westfield crashed his 86kg frame into the post, which snapped at ground level. Coburg defender Luke McGuane also glanced the post, and as he continued over the goal line the post hit his shoulder on its way down. McGuane did feel it, but may not be injured, according to reports.

The post was replaced after a few minutes and the game continued. Watch the news for video highlights of the post incident, or the game can be seen in full when it is replayed on ABC2.
