don't get me wrong i love footy and basketball but athletes in both codes are given too much of a free pass from the fawning public and administrators. when the aussies play the irish they're like thugs and revel in that behaviour.
The part that will hurt the AFL is the junior series being halted as well. Players like Selwood and Murphy went on a tour of Ireland with the junior Australian team and that would have helped develop them.
So because Chris Johnson, and others too, didn't play in the right way there will be many 16 and 17 year olds missing out on tours to Ireland which would have helped prepare them for their future AFL career.
But maybe the AFL and GAA just take most of the tackling out, and the games will be back on in 2008.
