How's My Trade Value
Leave a comment below for the name of a player, or players, that you think may or should be traded, or wish could be traded to your club.
In the coming days and weeks, plenty of possible player trades will be suggested. What draft pick or player someone could be worth, the teams that would suit the player, what the value was for similar players when they were traded in the past.
The AFL have changed a few rules to make trading easier for clubs, so this offseason could mean more big names are traded and all the teams will be active in making moves.

Daniel Bell or Mark Jamar from melbourne, both fringe players at melbourne but could be regulars at other teams.
Bell could make a move to adelaide, as their running defenders will start to retire in a few years.
Jamar could make a move to st.kilda possibly.
What do you think they could get?
Also any other players from melbourne that could get the boot?
Damien Peverill
Andrew Welsh
Jason Johnson
Courtney Johns
Mal Michael
Jason Laycock
Adam McPhee
Nathan Lovett-Murray
Yup, all of them!
can we trade coaches?
kosi is the obvious choice to get a good draft pick and possibly a little known player.
Ackland kicked 8 goals and Saddington was also good in the VFL, but despite that they don't really have trade value.
Wiggins will be added to the list and a post about his trade value will be added soon. He may be happy at Carlton, but maybe a different team could use him in a better role.

Melbourne really should trade a lot of their older players, so expect a few of them to have their trade value looked at. They did find that an older midfielder, Johnstone, could bring them a late first rounder and they can use all the picks they can get.

An entire week for Essendon trading, that could be interesting, and trading is something that Essendon will have to get back to doing. Johnson and Michael probably don't have any trade value, but the rest of the players could help teams but need the right type of situation.

A Koschitzke post will be on here tomorrow. He is certainly an obvious pick for someone who could be a big part of trade week, the Saints need to see what other teams are going to offer for him as it could be quite a bit, and both St Kilda and Koschitzke could benefit from a new start.
There won't be trading of coaches, although there should be a few trade ideas that help the Saints find more goals.
The Power are in a tough spot, they won't get a lot if they want to trade players like White, and they may be reluctant to offer someone like Pearce. Maybe they will see if they can do a blockbuster trade involving Boak or Salopek to a Victorian team, although neither of those players has been mentioned as wanting to go.
Outside mids and flashy show-offs are of less value than one tryer.
Freo isnt the best but he is home grown so hands off buddy
I reckon Freo should go hard at higher draft picks from other clubs, especially since the new teams coming into the league soon.
And Freo has just the right group of wasted talent and potential. The likes of Ryan Murphy, Robert Warnock, Byron Schammer, Ryley Dunn, Brett Peake, Luke Webster and David Mundy could all be used to acquire alot of very useful draftpicks.
Also:
I know Dunn hasnt done well, but he's got loads of talent and is a former first round drat pick
He has been added to the list. Certainly a difficult one to predict a trade for, maybe something happens with him like they did with Schneider, or maybe in a few weeks he is back in the Sydney side and any trade talk is forgotten about. Davis has kicked 27 goals in 9 games at ACT level, so he can still kick goals.
Some interesting names there. One of them, the trade value is already known. Port Adelaide reportedly thought that Schulz was worth a late second round pick.
Also to add to my list of trade bait, but not from m beloved dockers, from a team I also follow quite passionately Richmond.
Kayne Pettifer Jay Schuz (possible ) Tivendale could all go to Port for a first round pick with possibly a lesser untryed player such as a Matt Thomas who could be a handy aggressive small Defender/ Forward.
They should also go hard after Robbie Warnock, that could work out to be a vey formidable Ruck duo, the size and strength of Warnock and the mobility and experience of Troy Simmonds.
Warnock will be a player that will be looked at, good suggestion, and out of everyone that is talked about he is probably the most likely to move.
Melbourne probably have first pick in the preseason draft, and Robert Warnock's brother is also at the Demons, so when it comes to any trade negotiations it will be Melbourne with the power. A bit like M Morton and Hudson last year, they were leaving and their clubs had to take whatever they could get.
Melbourne and Fremantle are logicial trade partners. Warnock, and maybe Murphy, make sense for Melbourne.
But Bruce and Green, if they are traded so Melbourne can get extra draft picks to rebuild, will probably go to a contending team. If a team like Sydney, Hawthorn or maybe even Collingwood don't win the premiership this season they may be able to get better for another run in 2009 with Bruce and Green.
Melbourne isn't going to do a lot during the 2008 season, but will be making the headlines with trades and draft picks in the offseason.
Ryan Murphy is worth 2 proven older players and a pick. But somehow Freo dont seem to see that.
Also I'd like to talk about Daniel Connors, Richmond need to get him in the side or else he will back his bags and attract alot of attention from the other clubs such as St Kilda where his brother Elijay was drafted to last season.
Connors would attract alot of potential draft picks. But players such as Matthew Ferguson, James Gwlit and Justin Sweeney who all need a change of scenary would be suitable candidates for the firey Connors.
D Connors is close to getting into the Richmond side, although so is Tivendale, so it will be interesting to see if Richmond go young or with the veteran when they select.
we need more midfeilders and rotations for our defence. our starting backline is starting to become clear but still lack a dominant full back.
I am a passionate Freo member, I watch every game and here is what I think our best 22 is. But there is a few positions we are weak in, who in the AFL could we trade for to fill these positions:
B: Antoni Grover/ /
HB: Joshua Head/ Luke McPharlin/ Roger Hayden
C: G.Ibottson / /David Mundy
HF: A.Campbell / M.Pavlich /C.Mayne
F: M.Drum / R.Murphy /A.Browne
R: A.Sandilands/ Rhys Palmer/ Ryan Crowley
BENCH:
R.Warnock, A.Foster, D.Solomon, B.Schammer
Also Hinkley when he bulks up and Desy Headland if he is ever fit
Michael Johnson, Steven Dodd, Scott Thornton, Josh Carr, Jeff Farmer, Daniel Gilmore,Paul Haselby, Ryley Dunn and Heath Black can all be used as trade bait in my eyes.
still lack a dominant full back.
That is your answer, Hurley is someone who can be a dominant full back, he is also great at centre half back and has been effective up forward too.
whats tha supposed to mean?
whats tha supposed to mean?
If this is about Michael Hurley, then he will solve some problems for Fremantle as he could be the best full back in the AFL in a few years. It is also very likely that when Fremantle pick that Hurley will be one of the players they consider in the first round.
If you want to know about the helping Fremantle week, it will be similar to when there was a time back in April when the site was redone in the Demons' colours and it was called It’s Helping The Melbourne Football Club Week . As you know plenty about the Dockers, your input would be helpful when assessing the list and future of the Dockers.
If the Dockers win this round, then their week will be put on hold for a bit and the Eagles will instead be evaluated.
I didnt realise how much i wrote on the dockers,
I just love this website cause its a place where i can discuss the dockers cause where i come from not many people know alot about them..
I also think Beau Dowler from the hawks needs to be traded, a former top 10 pick will struggle for game time behind buddy and roughead
