How's My Trade Value: Jay Schulz

Player: Jay Schulz

Why their team should trade them:

They probably already should have traded him, they decided not to a year ago and may have another chance after the 2008 season. He isn't a regular in the Richmond side, they have given him enough chances and would be better served by going with other players now, like J Riewoldt and Rance.

Which team would be a good fit:

Port Adelaide wanted him, and with Tredrea getting old and White possibly on the way out they do need more height.

Similar trade in the past:

He was nearly on his way to Port Adelaide a year ago, for a late second round pick, so that gives some idea of his trade value. Richmond may not get as good an offer this time. Playfair and C Gardiner were a couple of key position players who were traded last year, their trade value ranged from a late draft pick to being given away.

Possible trade scenarios:

To Richmond: The Power's third round pick
To Port Adelaide: Jay Schulz

To Richmond: Cain Ackland
To Carlton: Jay Schulz

To Richmond: Ryan Murphy
To Fremantle: Jay Schulz

to say that Ackland and Murphy are worth the same is a fair disgrace. Ackland is a total dud. I would love to have Fev and Murphy at Richmond.

Just like the Eagles and Mitch Morton, Fremantle may not get real value back for Ryan Murphy. As Murphy can leave for nothing as an uncontracted player, the Dockers might just have to take what they are offered if Murphy wants out.

So Ryan Murphy and Ackland don't have similar trade value, due to different situations with contracts. Ackland could be useful for ruck depth at Richmond, while Schulz could be someone Carlton try at centre half forward.

agreed on the port adelaide selection that wood b a great fit for Schulz plus wasnt he originally from SA?
however i think richmond will try and get a better pick then a third round (tho i beleive he's not worth it)

ps charlie gardiner isnt a key position player he is more a ryan okeefe type forward!

Port Adelaide reportedly offered a late second round pick last year, and their early third round pick this year might be the best offer that Richmond hears. That is if the Power still want Schulz. Richmond might have missed their chance to trade him.

Goodness me, you'd delist someone if all they could get you was hAckland. He's a major list clogger and possibly the worst player in the league at the moment.

Carlton aren't exactly boasting great ruck depth either, and hAckland can't get a game there.
