Winner: Collingwood
There are some big matchups along the spine, and while the Bombers have Ryder and Gumbleton it may not be enough against Cloke, Reid, Brown and Goldsack. Collingwood also have big Dawes, who has overcome his knee problem. The midfields for both clubs are very good, as the Bombers have players like Hislop, Myers and Jetta while Collingwood have Pendlebury and Clarke and also Wood in the ruck.

What happenend to all the other Essemdon young guns?
Hocking, Houli, Riemers arn't backman, Williams is not a midfilder, whilst Lee, Hooker and Lonergan arn't forwards.

There might be the potential for Essendon to build a winning team for the future from this group, but Collingwood have just a bit more in the ruck and the key positions here.

Question still not answered.
It shows how little you actually know about other teams.

When it comes to finding spots in the Essendon senior side for Hocking, Houli and Riemers the only open spots could be in the back line. They all have the skills to play there. McVeigh moves into the middle and someone like Riemers could play in the back line. Williams can play in the midfield, and most other spots too, he is a very versatile player. It shouldn't matter where a lot of the Essendon players are positioned, if there is one club that has thrown their players into different spots it is Essendon. It isn't just Sheedy, but Knights is moving players around too. Last season in the VFL, Knights had Johns in the back line and now Knights is talking about Johns being the Bombers' third tall forward.
