Essendon V Collingwood: Teams, Fantasy News and Preview
Essendon v Collingwood
Essendon
FB: McVeigh, Michael, Slattery
HB: McPhee, Fletcher, Ryder
C: Dyson, Stanton, Heffernan
HF: M.Johnson, Lucas, Hird
FF: Monfries, Lloyd, Davey
Foll: Laycock, Peverill, Lovett
bench: Bradley, Bolton, Johns, Watson
emergency: Houli, Jetta, Lonergan
In: Bradley, Bolton
Out: Hille, Jetta
AFL Fantasy Watch:
Ryder and Laycock will have a bigger role now that Hille is officially out of the team for this game. Ryder should have a good game for fantasy points, with time in the back line and in the ruck. Laycock wasn't bad in the game against the Saints, he got some fantasy points by going forward and giving the Bombers another tall target in the forward 50. Alwyn Davey might have began the season on a lot of fantasy benches but now he is doing enough to start on fantasy teams, he should get plenty of minutes in this game as the Bombers are missing Jetta and didn't bring in another small. Dyson is someone to sign, he wasn't there at the start of the season but now is back in the team. Just a guess, but Mark Bolton won't be helping fantasy teams.
Collingwood
FB: Lockyer, Prestigiacomo, Cox
HB: H.Shaw, Clement, R.Shaw
C: Pendlebury, Toovey, Thomas
HF: Maxwell, Cloke, Didak
FF: Swan, Rocca, Johnson
Foll: Fraser, O'Bree, Dick
bench: Burns, Davis, O'Brien, Bryan
emergency: Richards, Egan, Iles
In: Didak, Bryan
Out: Licuria, Richards
AFL Fantasy Watch:
Bryan is a much bigger offensive threat than Richards so he might bring in a few fantasy points if he kicks a goal or two. Didak has a big price tag in fantasy games, a fantasy coach would have to be brave to sign him right now, but Didak could get hot and kick a bunch of goals. Toovey gets another game and his fantasy potential might be a bit better than Shannon Cox or Brad Dick, although all three would be cheap additions to a fantasy team and could have a big year if they keep their spot in the Collingwood team. Pendlebury has been kicking goals and winning the ball, he would be a good player at a reasonable price for a fantasy team and he should have a big game.
The Tip: Collingwood by 21 points
Best-On-Ground Guess: Josh Fraser
Chance For An Upset: Everyone is picking Essendon, but if Fraser has a big game with Hille out it could give an advantage to Collingwood.
Essendon
They win if....they overwhelm Collingwood with Lloyd, Lucas, Johns and Hird in the forward line.
They lose if...some of their veteran stars are more hurt than Essendon is admitting.
The Good News: It was easier to play under a roof against a depleted Saints' team than be out on the MCG during a storm against a powerful opponent in Port Adelaide.
The Bad News: They are without their big, experienced ruckman.
Collingwood
They win if....they use the ball better and cut down on their turnovers.
They lose if...Rocca doesn't give a bunch of goals.
The Good News: Didak returns and he could win the game with a few freakish plays.
The Bad News: They didn't bring in Ben Reid.
