Dempster Out, Crouch In For Sydney
Versatile Sydney defender Sean Dempster has injured his knee and will be missing from their lineup for around 6 weeks. The Swans have several players who are possible inclusions for their next game, one is Jared Crouch. While there was a time when Crouch never missed a game he has been out of the Sydney side for around half a season.
From The Daily Telegraph: Crouch ready for return
AFL Fantasy Impact:
Dempster got two thirds of the way to becoming a useful fantasy player. First of all he played every game, more importantly and also a big change from previous seasons he was out on the ground for most of the game, but he didn't explode for fantasy stats like he has the potential to do. He was solid for stats, and kicked an impressive long goal, against the Eagles. In his other games, both Sydney wins, he helped Sydney by playing a close defending role but unlike some of his other teammates in the Sydney back line he didn't have a lot of the ball. Dempster will probably make his way back into the team in a couple of months, his fantasy price will still be low then and if injuries have sidelined one or two of the more attacking Sydney defenders then maybe Dempster will be worth signing again.
Crouch is another Swan who often concentrates on the defensive aspect of his game, while he is affordable as a fantasy midfielder he won't bring in a huge amount of fantasy points. Malceski and Mathews have been getting a bit of the ball, maybe one of them has to move into a more defensive position with Dempster out and it could affect their fantasy numbers.
