Biglands Joins Hentschel As Crows Who Could Miss Next Season
Ruckman Rhett Biglands is unlikely to play next season after injuring his knee during the Crows game against West Coast on Saturday. He will have a knee reconstruction which usually means a year out of the game.
Adelaide forward Trent Hentschel injured his knee against Port Adelaide in round 21and is expected to miss all of next season too.
For 2007 the Crows will have Ben Hudson back at full strength after he spent this season recovering from a knee injury. Hudson has played in the SANFL in 2006.
Matthew Clarke shared the ruck duties with Biglands this season and the Crows will look for one more year from the veteran.
If Clarke does retire then the Crows could find help in the ruck through a trade or a preseason draft pick. Clarke Keating, Cain Ackland and Guy Richards could be acquired by the Crows and wouldn't cost a lot. Michael Gardiner could also be an option.
A more expensive option could be Peter Everitt, he would cost the Crows their first rounder and a useful player too. But Everitt could be the perfect fit as he is a similar age to players like Ricciuto, McLeod, Goodwin, Edwards and Hart.
