Akermanis, Johncock And Neitz Injured
Plenty of teams in the AFL will have to try another plan as they will be without important players next week, Melbourne could be in the most difficulty as several of their forwards are hurt.
The Bulldogs will have to wait at least a couple of weeks to have Akermanis in their side again. He has another hamstring problem. The Dockers will be without midfielder Brett Peake, who will miss a month.
From the AFL site: Akermanis out for a fortnight
Graham Johncock looked to have a serious problem with his ankle and later today the Crows will find out how long he misses. They will also be without Robert Shirley, Brett Burton should be available.
From The Advertiser: Crows' plans put on hold
Neitz is gone for a couple of weeks and Melbourne also has Robertson to worry about as he also hurt a knee.
From The Age newspaper: Knee injury to sideline Neitz
The Swans should have Hall playing, he hurt himself a couple of times in the game against the Tigers but should be there when they play the Lions.
From the AFL site: Hall will play even if 90 per cent fit: Roos
AFL Fantasy Impact:
Akermanis could be replaced by Faulkner at the Bulldogs, that is also an option for fantasy coaches although there are many others to consider for a fantasy forward spot. Both Abletts, Bock, Tredrea and Franklin are options.
If you have Peake you will need to trade him, Deledio might be someone to consider. Cheaper Dockers midfielders for fantasy are M Carr, McManus, Duffield and Headland.
Johncock is an expensive player in fantasy games, so if you need to trade him you can replace him with another star defender. Jacobs, Corey Jones, Wirrpanda, McPhee or Roe can bring in fantasy points. Johncock could also be traded for another Crow and Mattner, Bock or Stevens can all get the ball. It seems Massie is a possibility to replace Johncock in the Crows’ back line, he was a good fantasy player in 2006 because he had a very low starting price, he may not be worth playing this season. Shirley’s injury could open time for Porplyzia.
Brad Miller seems to have found the form he had a while ago, when he was a big player for fantasy points. Without Neitz, and Dunn, he should be a good player. Another tall forward the Demons might consider is Paul Johnson, he is a cheap fantasy ruckman and for the Demons he could replace the size of Neitz in the forward line.
