AFL Round 13 Teams and Fantasy News
Essendon v Melbourne
Essendon
FB: Nash, Michael, McVeigh
HB: Welsh, Fletcher, McPhee
C: Bolton, Watson, Camporeale
HF: Hird, Lucas, Slattery
FF: J.Johnson, Lloyd, Davey
Foll: Ryder, Peverill, Winderlich
bench: Stanton, Lovett, Laycock, M.Johnson
emergency: Bradley, Monfries, Dyson
In: Stanton, Lovett, Camporeale
Out: Hille, Heffernan, Monfries
AFL Fantasy Watch:
Stanton was playing at a high level before his injury and he should return with plenty of stats. Hille misses this week and Ryder has a chance to have even better numbers than his usual solid fantasy points, Laycock should also see more playing time but it isn't worth signing him with Hille out only 1 week.
Melbourne
FB: Ward, Carroll, Wheatley
HB: Godfrey, Bizzell, Bell
C: Bruce, McDonald, Johnstone
HF: Green, Robertson, Davey
FF: Sylvia, Neitz, Bate
Foll: White, McLean, Jones
bench: P.Johnson, Petterd, Newton, Brown
emergency: Miller, C.Johnson, Buckley
In: Neitz, Johnstone, Brown, Newton
Out: Yze, Holland, Pickett, Frawley
AFL Fantasy Watch:
A strange move for the coachless, rebuilding Demons to drop Frawley. He should be back in the team soon. Yze and Holland are listed as injured players, but their season for helping fantasy teams is probably over. Newton would have been a good signing if Neitz was still out.
Geelong v Sydney
Geelong
FB: Milburn, Scarlett, Enright
HB: Harley, Egan, Mackie
C: Wojcinski, Bartel, Corey
HF: Chapman, Mooney, Varcoe
FF: S.Johnson, N.Ablett, Stokes
Foll: Ottens, G.Ablett, Ling
bench: Blake, Kelly, Selwood, Rooke
emergency: J.Hunt, Tenace, Johnson
In: Rooke
Out: Tenace
AFL Fantasy Watch:
Rooke returns to the Geelong side while Tenace is the unlucky one to miss. J Selwood had a huge game last week but probably won’t have similar numbers this time. This might not be the week to invest in Ottens as he has a tough challenge with Sydney’s big ruckmen.
Sydney
FB: Richards, Barry, Dempster
HB: Bevan, C.Bolton, Mathews
C: Ablett, Kirk, Malceski
HF: R.O'Keefe, O'Loughlin, J.Bolton
FF: Davis, Goodes, Buchanan
Foll: Jolly, McVeigh, Fosdike
bench: Schmidt, Everitt, Laidlaw, Moore
emergency: Schneider, Thornton, Vogels
In: Davis, Laidlaw, Moore
Out: Hall, Grundy, Schneider
AFL Fantasy Watch:
Hall could be out for just a week or much longer. He has not been anywhere near his fantasy points from last season so if you have plenty of trades still to use a replacement forward should be traded for. If the Swans surprise everyone with their selection at full forward it could produce some bonus fantasy points for someone, Richards might be a chance. Laidlaw is an inexpensive fantasy midfielder to watch.
Fremantle v Carlton
Fremantle
FB: Hayden, McPharlin, Parker
HB: Johnson, Grover, Thornton
C: Black, Headland, Dodd
HF: Hasleby, Pavlich, Solomon
FF: Farmer, Murphy, Warnock
Foll: Sandilands, J.Carr, Bell
bench: Schammer, McManus, M.Carr, Mundy
emergency: Walker, Gilmore, Duffield
In: Farmer, Parker, McPharlin, Schammer, Murphy
Out: Peake, Cook, Walker, Crowley, Tarrant
AFL Fantasy Watch:
Plenty of changes for the struggling Dockers, only Peake who is injured is a forced change. Fantasy teams will have to remove Peake too and Schammer would be a good replacement. Farmer had a restful first half of the season, so he should hit the ground with plenty of energy and might kick enough goals to be worth his fantasy price. Murphy is another player to consider, but Tarrant will be back in the forward line there next week.
Carlton
FB: Houlihan, Thornton, Saddington
HB: Scotland, Waite, Bannister
C: Russell, Bentick, Gibbs
HF: Koutoufides, Fisher, Murphy
FF: Wiggins, Fevola, Lappin
Foll: Ackland, Simpson, Carrazzo
bench: Betts, O'hAilpin, Hartlett, Young
emergency: Bower, Blackwell, Kennedy
In: Betts, Hartlett, Young
Out: Walker, Whitnall, Blackwell
AFL Fantasy Watch:
Whitnall will need to be traded away as the Blues say he could miss a lot more than one week, Walker isn't supposed to be out as long but there is also some concern for how many games he will miss too.
Brisbane v Port Adelaide
Brisbane
FB: MacDonald, Merrett, Brennan
HB: Adcock, Drummond, Begley
C: Notting, Lappin, Stiller
HF: Sherman, Brown, Selwood
FF: Rischitelli, Patfull, McGrath
Foll: Charman, Black, Power
bench: Wood, Hadley, Dzufer, Proud
emergency: Copeland, Roe, Hooper
In: Dzufer, Power
Out: Copeland, Roe
AFL Fantasy Watch:
There is a big-priced fantasy midfielder added to the Lions' lineup and also the cheapest, a rookie-listed player. Power will be good for plenty of fantasy points and Dzufer should play a few games this season and have a fantasy price increase. Proud might be a better option than Dzufer for fantasy teams, although it might be better to judge them after this round, and Proud will still be inexpensive next week too.
Port Adelaide
FB: Thurstans, Wakelin, Wilson
HB: Pettigrew, C.Cornes, Surjan
C: Cassisi, S.Burgoyne, Rodan
HF: Pearce, Tredrea, Gray
FF: Westhoff, Lade, Ebert
Foll: Brogan, K.Cornes, P.Burgoyne
bench: Bentley, Boak, Lonie, Motlop
emergency: White, Thompson, Carlile
In: Bentley, Lonie, Motlop
Out: Salopek, Symes, White
AFL Fantasy Watch:
Salopek's fantasy AFL season is probably over so he will need to be traded. White was an unexpected omission but for teams that signed Westhoff it is a good sign. The signs for Symes are not looking good, the biggest of fantasy steals last season but he isn't doing anything this year.
St Kilda v Richmond
St Kilda
FB: Blake, Hudghton, Baker
HB: Gram, S.Fisher, L.Fisher
C: Fiora, Hayes, Montagna
HF: Harvey Riewoldt, X.Clarke
FF: Milne, Fraser, Voss
Foll: Rix, Dal Santo, Ball
bench: Attard, R.Clarke, Gilbert, Thompson
emergency: Birss, Watts, Ferguson
In: Gehrig
Out: Koschitzke
AFL Fantasy Watch:
Gehrig is due for a big game and with Koschitke out it could happen soon. The Saints aren't saying how bad Koschitzke's injury is, so the best move might be to sell him now after his big price rise. R Clarke is another Saint who is oft-injured but he was good last week.
Richmond
FB: King, J.Bowden, Thursfield
HB: Raines, Polak, Newman
C: Hyde, Tuck, White
HF: Pettifer, Richardson, Deledio
FF: Tivendale, Brown, Tambling
Foll: Pattison, Johnson, Foley
bench: Simmonds, Howat, Edwards, Jackson
emergency: Riewoldt, Moore, Hughes
In: Simmonds, Edwards
Out: Krakouer, Hughes
AFL Fantasy Watch:
Pattison's fantasy worth takes a hit with Simmonds back in the team. Edwards is a player to watch and he should get plenty of games during the second half of the season.
Adelaide v West Coast
Adelaide
FB: Bassett, Rutten, Johncock
HB: Torney, Stevens, McLeod
C: Mattner, Shirley, van Berlo
HF: Edwards, Bock, Knights
FF: McGregor, Ricciuto, Welsh
Foll: Hudson, Doughty, Thompson
bench from: Griffin, Massie, Maric, Jericho, Douglas, Reilly, Porplyzia
In: Douglas, Maric, Reilly
AFL Fantasy Watch:
Perrie isn't ready while Bock and McGregor are also said to be injured, so better avoid signing those players this round. Maric could push Griffin out of the backup ruck role, but it might not be all bad for Griffin if he plays forward if their other forwards do miss.
West Coast
FB: Hurn, Glass, B.Jones
HB: Waters, Hunter, Selwood
C: Rosa, Embley, Braun
HF: Chick, C.Jones, Nicoski
FF: LeCras, Lynch, Seaby
Foll: Cox, Kerr, Priddis
bench from: R.Jones, Graham, Armstrong, Brown, Fletcher, McKinley, Wirrpanda
In: C.Jones, Armstrong, Brown, Embley, Fletcher, McKinley
Out: Stenglein, Staker, Morton
AFL Fantasy Watch:
Morton improved his fantasy price a bit but it looks like he may not play a lot more this season as other Eagles return to the lineup. Fantasy coaches waiting for Judd have a dilemma, and it will depend on who is on the fantasy bench and how many trades the team has left as to whether Judd is traded.
Kangaroos v Western Bulldogs
Kangaroos
FB: Pratt, Petrie, Lower
HB: Smith, Firrito, Rawlings
C: Archer, Harris, Sinclair
HF: Wells, Edwards, Grant
FF: Jones, Brown, Swallow
Foll: McIntosh, Simpson, Harvey
bench from: Thomas, Green, Hale, Sansbury, Watt, McMahon, Whyman
In: Wells, Green, McMahon, Whyman
Out: Campbell
AFL Fantasy Watch:
Wells is back and should be a certain started after missing last round even though he was named then. Archer may have a big milestone but he may not be the best for fantasy points, and that is something that he has also said this season.
Western Bulldogs
FB: McMahon, Harris, Morris
HB: Gilbee, Williams, Hargrave
C: Harbrow, West, Akermanis
HF: Giansiracusa, Johnson, Hahn
FF: Grant, Darcy, Higgins
Foll: Street, Cooney, Boyd
bench from: Addison, Lynch, Ray, Everitt, Power, Minson, Robbins
In: Everitt, Grant, Minson, Power, Robbins
Out: Eagleton, Murphy
AFL Fantasy Watch:
Grant may not be worth signing for fantasy teams, at his current price, although the absence of Murphy and Eagleton means he might kick a few goals. Williams keeps his spot in the side, he could have a big game against the young Collingwood forwards.
Collingwood v Hawthorn
Collingwood
FB: Swan, Wakelin, Maxwell
HB: H.Shaw, O'Brien, Goldsack
C: Pendlebury, Licuria, Lockyer
HF: Johnson, Cloke, Didak
FF: Thomas, Reid, Fraser
Foll: Richards, O'Bree, Burns
bench from: Davis, Clarke, Cox, Stanley, Iles, Holland, Medhurst
In: Reid, Iles, Medhurst, O'Brien
Out: Rocca
AFL Fantasy Watch:
Reid takes Rocca's spot and he has the potential to kick a few goals and get plenty of marks. Stanley might lose his spot for O’Brien to return, that will be known tomorrow. Clarke would be very unlucky if he was omitted, if he has another big game then he should be signed before his price rises before the round 14 lockout.
Hawthorn
FB: Brown, Gilham, Guerra
HB: Ladson, Croad, Sewell
C: Birchall, Mitchell, Smith
HF: Lewis, Franklin, McGlynn
FF: Bateman, Roughead, Boyle
Foll: Campbell, Hodge, Crawford
bench from: Young, Osborne, Taylor, Ellis, Jacobs, Thorp, Muston
In: Franklin, Muston, Thorp
AFL Fantasy Watch:
Franklin is back, that is good news as fantasy teams deal with so many outs this round.
