AFL Round 12 Teams and Fantasy News Part 2

June 21st 2007 09:43
Richmond v Melbourne

Richmond

FB: King, Thursfield, J.Bowden
HB: Raines, Polak, Newman
C: Polo, Tuck, Tambling
HF: Pettifer, Richardson, Hyde
FF: Brown, Hughes, Deledio
Foll: Pattison, Johnson, Foley

bench: White, Howat, Edwards, Jackson

emergency: Tivendale, Krakouer, Riewoldt

In: Brown
Out: Kingsley

AFL Fantasy Watch:
All of the fantasy teams are already set for these games, but there is plenty of news and things to watch. Brown returns but few fantasy coaches will be playing him this round, and he is unlikely to be added to many teams next week as he won't be playing a large amount of minutes. Kingsley is out, he is on a few AFL fantasy teams and might have to be sold next week, but the good news is that he might have had a small price increase. Riewoldt is only an emergency again, plenty of teams have him on their fantasy bench and they should get a return on their investment soon.

Melbourne

FB: Ward, Carroll, Holland
HB: Wheatley, Bizzell, Bell
C: Bruce, McDonald, Godfrey
HF: Green, Robertson, Davey
FF: Sylvia, Neitz, Bate
Foll: White, McLean, Jones

bench: P.Johnson, Petterd, Frawley, Pickett

emergency: Newton, Brown, Yze

In: Pickett
Out: Johnstone

AFL Fantasy Watch:
Neitz could miss this game, and Newton is an interesting name among the emergencies. Pickett's days as a player for fantasy teams are probably over, but he still could surprise.

Sydney v Collingwood

Sydney

FB: Richards, Barry, Dempster
HB: Schneider, C.Bolton, Mathews
C: Ablett, Kirk, Malceski
HF: R.O'Keefe, O'Loughlin, J.Bolton
FF: Davis, Hall, Buchanan
Foll: Everitt, Goodes, Fosdike

bench: Schmidt, McVeigh, Jolly, Bevan

emergency: Grundy, Laidlaw, Thornton

In: Ablett
Out: Kennelly

AFL Fantasy Watch:
Kennelly's injury happened a couple of weeks a go so fantasy coaches were able to trade him away. Hall has been in a big slump and this game is his chance to turn it around. Goodes hasn’t been getting his usual stats from previous years, he could also have a big second half of the year which could be started off by a big game here.

Collingwood

FB: Lockyer, Wakelin, Maxwell
HB: H.Shaw, Cox, Stanley
C: Pendlebury, Licuria, Johnson
HF: Holland, Cloke, Didak
FF: Swan, Rocca, Fraser
Foll: Richards, O'Bree, Burns

bench: Thomas, Goldsack, Davis, Clarke

emergency: Medhurst, Iles, Cook

In: Licuria, Richards, Cox, Clarke
Out: O'Brien, Bryan, Medhurst, Toovey

AFL Fantasy Watch:
Plenty of changes for fantasy coaches to think about, and next week Clarke could be added to many teams. He is at the rookies' very low price. Richards doesn't have any fantasy value, Cox should go up in price a bit more now while Licuria might be a bit too expensive to buy. Stanley is a player to watch, if he has a big game here he can still be bought at a low price next week before his price rises after that.

West Coast v St Kilda

West Coast

FB: Wirrpanda, Glass, B.Jones
HB: Waters, Hunter, Selwood
C: Rosa, Priddis, Braun
HF: Stenglein, Staker, Morton
FF: Chick, Lynch, Seaby
Foll: Cox, Judd, Kerr

bench from: Hurn, R.Jones, C.Jones, Graham, LeCras, Nicoski, Armstrong

In: C.Jones, Graham, Waters, Nicoski, Armstrong
Out: Fletcher, Brown

AFL Fantasy Watch:
Fantasy coaches might be able to watch Nicoski play a game before signing him next week, he doesn't cost a lot compared to similar players. With the addition of Waters and Nicoski it has to lead to a drop in possessions for some other Eagles' backmen. Armstrong did have several big games for fantasy points earlier in the year, so he is a player to watch, Armstrong could kick a few goals in this game.

St Kilda

FB: Blake, Hudghton, Attard
HB: Gram, S.Fisher, L.Fisher
C: Fiora, Hayes, Montagna
HF: Harvey Riewoldt, X.Clarke
FF: Milne, Koschitzke, Voss
Foll: Rix, Dal Santo, Ball

bench from: Baker, R.Clarke, Ferguson, Gilbert, Thompson, Birss, Watts

In: X.Clarke, Ferguson, L.Fisher, Harvey, Watts
Out: Gehrig, Howard, Gwilt

AFL Fantasy Watch:
Gehrig's absence was expected, but Gwilt's was a surprise. Fantasy coaches got plenty of fantasy points and a solid price rise from Gwilt, if he doesn't return next week he will have to be traded but with the price increase an adequate replacement will be easy to find. Harvey is in, but that doesn't mean he will play. Watts deserves a game after several impressive matches in the VFL, his fantasy price is very low so if he starts kicking goals he will jump in price.
