AFL Round 12 Preview Part 2
Richmond v Melbourne
The Tip: Melbourne by 44 points
Best-On-Ground Guess: Brock McLean
Chance For An Upset: The teams have gotten a bit closer since last week, as Melbourne have been dealing with new injuries while the Tigers have been getting players back.
Richmond
They win if....Brown does contribute on the scoreboard.
The Good News: The Tigers are now in the easier part of their schedule.
The Bad News: While some may say it is good to see a Richmond player hit a target for once, it probably isn't a good idea for Pattison to be throwing a football at Richardson's face.
Melbourne
They win if....Holland can continue to stop the big forwards of the AFL.
The Good News: Two wins in a row.
The Bad News: The Demons might want to stop trying to forge links with the Melbourne soccer club of the A-League, unless they want to wear helmets and body armour to work with the riotous soccer fans there lobbing explosives at their heads.
Sydney v Collingwood
The Tip: Sydney by 33 points
Best-On-Ground Guess: Ryan O'Keefe
Chance For An Upset: Collingwood travel very well, and they have the forwards to win even if they are missing a lot of their back line.
Sydney
They win if....Hall starts to kick goals.
The Good News: Their win - loss record at the moment is very similar to their record at round 12 in their previous couple of seasons.
The Bad News: The Swans do have a few injury problems too, Kennelly is out and Roberts-Thomson isn't ready to go yet.
Collingwood
They win if....Josh Fraser has a huge performance against Sydney's two big ruckmen.
The Good News: Martin Clarke didn't take long to go from a rookie new to the sport to playing in his first AFL game.
The Bad News: They are without half their back line.
West Coast v St Kilda
The Tip: West Coast by 62 points
Best-On-Ground Guess: Dean Cox
Chance For An Upset: No chance.
West Coast
They win if....Burke, who was great last week, and Winmar don't make a surprise comeback to AFL, the Eagles really should not have any problems with the injury-depleted Saints.
The Good News: Nicoski could play his first game of the season.
The Bad News: Fremantle stole a lot of the headlines out West last week, the Eagles probably don’t mind that they didn’t get the back page.
St Kilda
They win if....Harvey not only plays his 350th game, but he plays the best ever game of his career.
The Good News: They play Richmond next week.
The Bad News: Gehrig is hurt, players are out of contract, lots of turmoil off the field, it isn't looking good.
Last week's games:
The Tip: Hawthorn
When the news that Franklin would miss was announced it seemed that Carlton should have been the favourite, the Hawks showed they are more than a one man team.
The Tip: Adelaide
They didn't just score a lot of goals, they had big games from their tall forwards and Bock and Welsh kicked most of the goals which is something that has not been happening.
The Tip: Fremantle
The bottom seems to have fallen out of Fremantle's season and they couldn't beat the Bulldogs when they played at a neutral venue.
The Tip: Geelong
Not the most difficult game to select a winner for, although it did get a bit close in the third quarter.
The Tip: Port Adelaide
When Tredrea goaled early in the first quarter it looked like the Power would prevail, they were great for three quarters.
