AFL Player Of The Week: Round 1
Brad Johnson of the Western Bulldogs.
He had 24 disposals, and 1 out of every 3 were kicks that went through for a goal. He also led his team in contested marks, handed a couple of goals to his teammates and also won the ball at ground level. Without him the Bulldogs may not have won, with him they dominated Geelong for much of the game. Brad Johnson is the AFL Player Of The Week.

Plenty of leagues around the world announce a player of the week award. The AFL don't so this will have to do for now. Feel free to leave a comment with a suggestion for another player who was worthy of being the AFL Player Of The Week.

But now he has stepped up another level as he is the Bulldogs' best goal-kicker since, someone from a long time ago, maybe Beasley. Johnson's total goals for 2006 were also higher than any year of Grant's too.
Johnson may be small compared to most AFL full forwards, but at the Bulldogs some of their most prolific scorers have been even shorter, with Royal and MacPherson, Brown and Kolyniuk. Brad Johnson would also be taller than current Bulldogs Eagleton and Robbins.
Brad Johnson could nearly get to 500 career goals by the end of the season. That would mean he passes former stars like Jesaulenko, Brereton, Blight and Brownless.
