There is just over a month to go until the AFL National Draft. Updates of the mock draft will be posted in the next month. Expanded reasons and information will be included. There could also be some additional signings that take place over the next month that may influence a team's drafting. Possibly another father/son pick could be announced as well.

A mock draft is just a guess at what will happen on draft day. Right now, except for a couple of people at Princes Park, there is nobody who knows what will happen with the first pick. But if you would like to post your own mock draft you can in the comments section. Or fans of a team might list some players they would like their team to look at, for example a Hawthorn supporter could post a comment about picks 6, 24, 33 and 56 while a Bulldogs fan could comment on who they would like at picks 11, 45, 61 and 66.

Also there are a couple hundred more draft prospects out there, so leave a comment if you know of a young player that teams may look to draft.

Check the site in the coming days for a Leuenberger draft story, he could go at pick 1 or he could be a draft day slider.

missed one - Craig Bird, He made the All australian under 18 side and captained the NSW/ACT team.

Thanks for that. I probably did miss more than one, so keep the suggestions coming.

Bird is little but a good player and will be included in future updates.

Sydney would have scouted him more than other AFL teams, it wouldn't surprise if they picked him.

Want do you think of Kurt Trippett - he seems like a possible replacement for gardiner at the eagles as it seems the other good talls in the draft will go quiet early.

Queensland have a few tall prospects that could go earlier in the draft than expected. Tippett and Renouf played really well for Queensland at the Under 18 Titles, and have continued their good play back in the Queensland league.

Tippett certainly has the build to replace Gardiner in the forward line for the Eagles.

The Eagles would also be a good fit for him, as he could provide a marking target on the bigger ground and there would be no pressure for him to play in the ruck. He has the skills to play in the ruck but still needs to learn the position more.

The player that Tippett could be compared to, in regards to the draft, is Tom Williams. Williams was picked on his potential, at pick 6 in 2004, after going to AFL after playing rugby. Tippett was playing basketball before focusing on football. But the 2006 draft is deeper than 2004 so Tippett should be available at pick 16.

Thank you for your question. Just under a month until we know who the Eagles select.
