There are not a lot of minutes available in the Geelong midfield, even for Joel Selwood, so if he wants to play more he will need to find some extra minutes as a defender or forward.

Last season, Selwood started on the bench and then went into the middle. If he started the game in a back pocket and then moved into the centre later in the quarter it would mean a large increase in playing time and probably a few more stats too.

``I'm looking to play a bit more this year and even if it was to go down back or up forward, I've just got to learn a whole lot of different positions now.''
