AFL Fantasy Player Notes - Egan and Scarlett Still Injured
The Cats will still start the season as favourites to win again but they are not having the ideal preparation with a couple of their important defenders
From The Geelong Advertiser: Scarlett's knee rules him out
About Egan:
AFL Fantasy Impact:
Egan will miss a few games, but Geelong already showed how they play without him. Hunt, Harley and Mackie do a bit extra in the back line with Egan out. While it doesn't look like Scarlett is expected to miss any games, if he was also out it might require Geelong to restructure their back line and give an unexpected player enough minutes to help fantasy teams. Lonergan might be someone who becomes a fantasy player, the above article also mentions Harry Taylor could be called on to provide some height in the back line.
From The Geelong Advertiser: Scarlett's knee rules him out
Scarlett had an arthroscopy on his left knee to remove loose materials, but Cats football manager Neil Balme said there was no cartilage damage and expected it to sideline the full back for ``a couple of weeks at worst''.
``It's obviously not ideal, he'll miss the first few weeks of the season but we're not putting a time frame on it. It's just good it was found now and not later.''
