AFL Fantasy Player Notes – Deledio To The Richmond Goal-Square
Richmond want to have a fresh, new look for season 2008 and moving Deledio forward permanently would create a forward line with plenty of firepower.
From Fox Sports: Deledio to take pressure off Richo
AFL Fantasy Impact:
Probably a bad thing for Deledio’s fantasy points. His possessions totals will take a big hit. But he may be able to compensate for that with contested marking and goals. Deledio did play forward a little bit last year, and even coming off a broken hand he was very capable in the air. So in fantasy leagues that count contested marks, Deledio might still be a fantasy star.
If the fantasy positions have already been assigned, then Deledio will be a fantasy centre who is playing as a forward for his AFL club. If the positions are still being allocated, based on what clubs are saying and where players are put in preseason games, then maybe Deledio becomes a forward in fantasy leagues too. That would increase his fantasy worth.
If Deledio is out of the middle, that allows another player or two to get in the action, and the stats. A chance for Edwards, Connors or Cotchin, when he is healthy, to become a star in the Richmond midfield.

The club's bold experiment will see Deledio leading from the square, with Richardson positioned 40m out and Nathan Brown and Kayne Pettifer lurking in the forward arc.
Richmond insiders hope that as a 189cm forward with skills and pace, Deledio might average two to three goals a game in the mould of Western Bulldogs forward Brad Johnson, combined with brief midfield appearances.
