AFL Fantasy Player Notes – Brisbane’s McGrath Injured Once Again
It seems that every year in Brisbane it begins with an announcement that Ashley McGrath is injured and the season finishes with Ashley McGrath trade rumours. Here is the injury announcement, and in September the talk of a trade to Fremantle or West Coast can begin again.

AFL Fantasy Impact:
More Rhan Hooper will be a good thing for the Lions and fantasy teams. With McGrath out of action, Hooper should be getting all the playing time he wants. Hooper might get 30 goals in 2008, and also spend a bit of time in the middle getting possessions. McGrath is very injury-prone, so even when it says he could play in round 1 or 2 it could be later than that.

"I'm probably another four weeks away. It's a bit unfortunate that it happened at this time of year. It would have been good if it had happened before Christmas, then I could have been playing NAB Cup.
"Now I'm looking forward to round one or two."

Over his career, McGrath might be a more accurate kick for goal than Hooper. But where McGrath has problems is his injuries and he also gives away a few free kicks. McGrath also doesn't chase and tackle like Hooper does, so if there is room for only one of them on the team it might be Hooper, but they could try both of them as small forwards to help Brown and Bradshaw.
