The Hawks have Lance Franklin and he nearly won the game with 6 goals, the Bulldogs had more players kicking goals and they were also more accurate. West and Cross combined for 45 handballs, an impressive stat.

The game was only decided in the final minute of play, the Crows kicked one more goal but the Dockers had 7 more behinds. McManus had 20 possessions in his milestone game, Johnson had 13 in his first game of the season and Dean Solomon had 12 tackles.
