AFL Fantasy News: Tredrea Answers The Challenge

It was wet and windy, and when the Lions went in at halftime with zero goals on the board they were actually still in the game. Brisbane did outscore Geelong in the third term before the Cats finished them off in the last quarter. While most players fared poorly in the conditions, it was no surprise that Gary Ablett with his skills was able to dominate. Both Selwoods spent a lot of time crashing in for the ball or the player, and they combined for 19 tackles, the younger Selwood might have been the better of the two.

Fantasy Player News

Geelong
Selwood: 27 possessions and 8 tackles, he is unlikely to be dropped to the VFL again, fantasy coaches may even think about starting him.
Varcoe: Puts in a lot of effort on the forward line, he got some reward in the stats with 17 possessions, 3 tackles and a goal.
G Ablett: 35 possessions, 8 tackles and a goal. He might be the best AFL fantasy forward to have.
Ottens: 12 possessions, 7 tackles and 33 total hitouts, also received 5 free kicks.
Bartel: 21 disposals might be a bit under his average, he got extra fantasy points with 12 tackles and a goal.

Brisbane
Proud: He should keep his spot in the team, he had 8 disposals and 4 tackles, his playing time should go up and fantasy coaches can wait to see what he does next round before signing him at his bargain price.
Drummond: 22 kicks, he started the season late but is quickly becoming one of the fantasy stars.
Brennan: An inconsistent player, but very talented and his fantasy price might go back up soon, he had 12 kicks and 5 tackles.

Rischitelli: 10 kicks, 9 handballs and 11 tackles.
Selwood: He started off his season with a huge game for fantasy points a few weeks ago, this game was not bad for fantasy points with 11 kicks and 11 tackles.

When Port Adelaide hosted Hawthorn a few weeks ago they only played one quarter, the first, and in this game Port Adelaide kept going after an impressive start to the game and did enough in the first three quarters to record a needed win. Essendon owned the last quarter here but it was too late, the Power didn't kick a goal but the Bombers needed to kick more than the six goals they did to catch them. Tredrea started off the game with a long goal, and that gave him and the Power the momentum. Westhoff had another good game for the Power, and even compared to his opponent Patrick Ryder he looked tall and thin. But it was Robert Gray, who was also playing his third game who was the star, and he kicked 4 goals.

Port Adelaide
Tredrea: 4 goals, he might be going to have a big second half of the season.
Gray: 4 goals from his 9 kicks, another impressive game, he also had 2 handballs and 4 marks.
Cassisi: 32 possessions, 11 marks, 4 tackles and 2 free kicks received.

Ebert: Another small forward for Port who kicked 4 goals, Ebert did have similar numbers to Gray with 9 kicks and 2 handballs.

Essendon
Winderlich: 16 kicks, 8 handballs and 10 marks.
Davey: Like Winderlich, Davey was one of the fantasy bargains of the year, Davey never stopped running with 14 disposals and 8 tackles.
J Johnson: The better Johnson, he had 28 disposals.
Watson: 27 possessions, Watson always gets a lot of the ball.
Peverill: He will usually have a lot of disposals, and he did with 24, but he also kicked 2 goals.
