AFL Fantasy News: Sydney Keep Their Season Alive

Sydney are a very good chance for playing in the finals while the Dockers have slipped again. The score was close for three quarters but a lot of that was the inaccurate kicking of the Swans.

Swans 89 - Dockers 61

Fantasy Player News

Sydney
Goodes: Getting back to some of his expected numbers, Goodes had 20 disposals and 4 tackles but only 1 mark.
Schneider: Back in their lineup and had 22 possessions, kicked 1 goal and 4 behinds.

O'Loughlin: 2 goals and 3 frees for as he had a better game for fantasy points than he usually does.
Fosdike: 16 kicks, 10 handballs, 4 marks and 1 free kick received.
Hall: 3 goals and 5 marks but also gave away some free kicks.

Fremantle
Solomon: A lot of tackles like he often does, also had 3 frees for and 13 kicks.
J Carr: His possessions were a bit down, only 13, extra fantasy points were added with 10 tackles.
Farmer: Not as good as last week, he did kick 2 goals but didn't play a large amount of minutes.
Sandilands: 39 total hitouts, he also had 12 possessions.
Schammer: A player that could finish the season with some big games, he had 9 possessions and 4 tackles but he played just under two thirds of the game.

Both teams had a lot more to gain from a loss than a win, and with Fevola suspended by his club and Bruce a late withdrawal for Melbourne the game was expected to be a close contest. Each side had a few times when they were in control and the Demons used a solid third quarter to get the win although Carlton did produce a late run in the last quarter. White had more than double the total hitouts than Carlton did.

Fantasy Player News

Melbourne
Wheatley: Having a very big fantasy season, 19 of his 29 possessions here were kicks and he also had 2 goals.
Dunn: A late inclusion, Dunn had 18 possessions, 6 marks and 5 tackles and should keep his spot in the team now.
Robertson: 5 goals from only 6 kicks and 4 marks.
Newton: Another impressive game, his fantasy price is low and will increase soon after his 3 goals.
Frawley: Played nearly all the game, except when he was getting bandaged, he had 9 possessions.

Carlton
Kennedy: Carlton should produce a new fantasy star as they play their youth, Kennedy is a chance and he kicked 2 goals.
Bower: 11 possessions and 3 tackles, he might keep his spot in the team over the older Saddington.
Grigg: His first AFL game, his minutes were very low. 5 possessions but should get more games this season.
O'hAilpin: Played as a ruckman/forward and provided fantasy points with 2 goals and 8 marks.
Hartlett: Seems to struggle as a defender but then plays better when sent forward, he had 4 marks and 4 kicks.

Petrie did it again, although his goals were spread out during the game more than last week's big first quarter. Petrie kicked 6 goals and that was enough for the win as Richardson produced 4 goals at the other end.

Kangaroos 104 - Tigers 79

Harvey: The usual high amount of possessions, 19 kicks and 13 handballs, didn't kick a goal this time.
Petrie: 6 goals and 9 marks, two big games in a row is very impressive.
Jones: Now getting more possessions as well as goals, he had 20 possessions,3 goals, 5 marks and 3 frees for.

Richmond
Richardson: 12 marks, 18 kicks, 4 goals, 2 frees for, his fantasy points and value continue to increase.
King: Another huge game for someone who was once at the lowest AFL fantasy price, he had 9 kicks and 9 handballs.
