AFL Fantasy News: Fire the Coach, Win The Next Game

The Bombers produced a big fightback in the second half but it wasn't enough as Collingwood won to solidify a spot in the top 4 while the Bombers are slipping out of finals contention. The big forwards on both teams performed, but Collingwood also had Davis helping along the score, he kicked 4 goals.

Fantasy Player News

Collingwood
Cloke: 3 goals and 11 marks, he has become a very important fantasy forward.

Davis: 4 goals and 14 kicks, more fantasy points with Medhurst out of the lineup.
Pendlebury: 20 possessions and 2 goals, having a big year.
Fraser: 21 possessions and 8 marks, always consistent for fantasy numbers.
Clarke: 23 possessions and 8 marks, amazing numbers for a player from the rookie list.

Essendon
McVeigh: 21 possessions and 2 goals.
Fletcher: Back from suspension, he was a bit down in stats with only 14 kicks.
Lovett-Murray: 10 possessions, fantasy coaches are not getting a lot from him yet.
Lucas: 4 goals and 3 frees, only had 2 marks but it was still a good game for fantasy stats.
Hille: 18 possessions and 21 total hitouts, a good game for fantasy points.

The Dockers kicked accurately, worked hard and won with their new coach. Burton got Adelaide back into the game but the Dockers pulled away in the last quarter. Pavlich was the difference, Fremantle had him at full forward and Adelaide didn't. Although he will be on the top of their list he does want to change teams. The Crows fans at the game would not have enjoyed themselves, although it would have been better for them to be at the game instead of listening to the commentator without a voice on TV. It might have been Dr Claw, from Inspector Gadget, who commentated the game.

Fremantle
Pavlich: 5 goals, 14 marks and 14 kicks, every AFL and fantasy team would want him.
Gilmore: 21 possessions, 10 marks but he only played half the game.
Hasleby: Has been a bit inconsistent, back to his best with 22 disposals, 11 marks and a bonus 3 goals.
Mundy: 22 possessions and 4 tackles as he was in the action a bit more.
Warnock: They got a lot more from Gilmore so Warnock didn't have a big game with Sandilands out.

Adelaide
Burton: 4 goals and a lot of leaping, a healthy Birdman is great for fantasy points.
Mattner: 18 possessions and he should keep his spot in the team.
Hudson: 33 total hitouts, also had 16 handballs.
McLeod: Some stats were a bit down but he added 2 goals.
Goodwin: 28 possessions and 6 tackles, their veteran players are still performing.

The Saints are marching towards the finals with another win, as they defeated a Hawthorn side that had a lot of trouble kicking long. When they did do that they got results, as Franklin had 10 scoring shots, but most of his goals came too late in the match. The Saints' Luke was on the ball, and in the forward line, Ball kicked 3 goals. The Nicks also earned their money as they had a big influence on the result.

St Kilda
Ball: 19 kicks, 12 handballs, 11 marks, 3 goals, 4 free kicks for and 5 tackles.
S Fisher: 17 kicks and 13 marks, he should have a lot more big games for fantasy points to end the season.
Gilbert: He can play anywhere which is great for fantasy numbers, he had 12 marks and 16 kicks.
Riewoldt: 3 goals, 9 marks, 15 kicks and 2 frees for.
Dal Santo: 31 possessions, he increased his fantasy points production.

Hawthorn
Franklin: 5 goals and 5 behinds, along with 8 marks and 13 kicks it was a great game for fantasy points.
Birchall: The Hawks used him a lot coming out of the back line, he had 25 possessions.
Smith: 22 possessions and 9 marks, has become a useful player for fantasy teams.
McGlynn: Received 4 free kicks so that provided extra points, also had 10 kicks, 5 tackles and a goal.
Ellis: He had a solid game with 10 possessions and 4 tackles, but may have an injury.

Compared to most of their recent matches, there was a big winning margin in this game. The Swans were in the game at half time, despite Hall and Kennelly not playing, but the Eagles dominated in the third quarter before a late Swans' rally put a scare into the Eagles in the final minutes.

West Coast
Priddis: It's all about selling when it comes to fantasy leagues and Eagles like Priddis, his playing time and stats took a big hit.
Seaby: Cox is starring and Hansen is back in the forward line, Seaby's good fantasy season is over now.
R Jones: 11 possessions here, another player to sell as he won't get as many stats now with the Eagles close to full strength.
Braun: He is pushed out of the middle now, and while his stats will be useful he could start dropping in fantasy value.
LeCras: Hansen, and a surprising Staker, are in the team now so there won't be a lot of playing time for him.

Sydney
Dempster: He has the talent and size, and he put it together here with 22 possessions, 11 marks and 4 tackles.
Goodes: 10 tackles, along with 13 possessions and 4 marks provided a solid amount of fantasy points.
Mathews: Kicked a couple of goals which pushed along his fantasy points, also had 15 possessions.
R O'Keefe: 4 goals, 5 tackles and 11 kicks as O'Keefe played very well.
Vogels: Didn't do a lot for fantasy teams as he replaced Hall but only kicked 1 behind.
