AFL Fantasy News: Can’t Stop Jonathan Brown

The Cats were in party mode for most of the game, and a lot of their tricks worked. A couple of things that were unexpected were Blake's goal barrage and Steven King's huge contested mark. King had an unexpectedly solid platform to launch from, the goal umpire.

Fantasy Player News

Geelong
Blake: Ottens was out and Blake was ready to play, he had 15 disposals and 24 total hitouts and thrilled the crowd with his 2 goals, the first was a gift on the goal-line while the second was achieved through winning the ball at ground level and snapping across his body.

Stokes: Another big fantasy points game, Stokes had 23 possessions and kicked 3 goals.
Corey: 12 tackles was a good bonus for fantasy points, he also had 15 kicks and 17 handballs.
Bartel: 32 possessions and 9 tackles, he has put together two big games after a few quiet ones.
G Ablett: 28 possessions and 4 frees for, one of the best and most consistent fantasy forwards.

Richmond
Connors: Might be on the "sign now" list for fantasy teams, he had 25 possessions and 7 marks.
Edwards: 15 possessions and 5 marks, he should provide some solid stats in the last month of games.
Deledio: He looked to have some trouble with his hand, as he didn't want to handball with it, and his stats were a bit down with 16 possessions.
Graham: A ruckman in his first AFL game isn't expected to get a lot of fantasy points, he had 2 kicks and 13 total hitouts.
Richardson: 16 kicks and 4 goals, the ball didn't get down his end too often but he still helped fantasy teams.

It was a lot closer than the final score says. Carlton were in front at three quarter time but they slowed down a bit towards the end of the game while Rocca took over.

Clement: He played very well, with 22 disposals, but left the ground with an injury.

Carlton
Jamison: 9 possessions and 3 marks, probably not going to help fantasy teams.
Jackson: 19 possessions, and 5 frees for, he could provide some value for fantasy teams.
Russell: 16 possessions, 8 marks and 9 tackles was a big improvement over his normal numbers.
Fevola: 6 goals, he should finish the year with a lot more goals.
Carrazzo: 36 possessions, every game he gets a huge amount of the ball.

Brisbane were very inaccurate in front of goal, it didn't matter as the Kangaroos were not only inaccurate too but they rarely had the ball in their forward area. Jonathan Brown kicked 6 goals and 6 behinds, that includes a couple of shots that hit the goalpost, he won the game with his strong marking as he was too big for Firrito.
