It has not been a good season for the Tigers but injuries to some of their players have created opportunities for others. Cameron Howat impressed last season and when a spot opened up on their main list it was expected that he would contribute and he has. Another Tiger was elevated from the rookie list at that time, Jake King. He has also been impressive.
To say Jake King is a bit on the small side is correct, but he knows how to play the role perfectly. He positions himself in the right spot to crumb off the pack, he gets plenty of tackles and when there is space he runs as hard as he can.
King has been in double-figures for possessions in every game he has played so far. He had 20 possessions in Richmond's draw, and 21 possessions when they won. They are some promising performances from King, who was pick 24 in the recent AFL rookie draft, and Richmond will be expecting a lot more big games from him over his career.
