A generation ago the Magpies relied on Shaws in the middle of the ground and now the Magpies' back line is where a new group of Shaws operate. A father/son selection, Heath Shaw officially joined the Magpies as pick 48 in the 2003 AFL draft.
Shaw first played for Collingwood in 2005. The next season he exploded with a huge amount of statistics as he joined Collingwood's half back line.
He hit double figures for possessions in every game he played in 2006. His career-high for kicks and total disposals in a game was set against Port Adelaide when he had 27 kicks and 33 total disposals.
A future All-Australian, Heath Shaw has a big tradition to continue but he has shown he is up to the challenge.
