A Possible 2008 SuperCoach Team - Bench
B Ed Barlow
B Cale Morton
C Rhys Palmer
C Tom Hislop
R Ivan Maric
R Matthew Kreuzer
F James Sellar
F Leroy Jetta
Barlow showed in a few games last season that he has a multitude of skills, and in 2008 he is a chance to be a regular player for the Swans. Cale Morton enters the league with foot skills that are better than most AFL players, and he joins a club that should play him all the time. C Morton is one of the few first year players who might be on a large number of fantasy teams.
The Dockers need speed in the middle so they need to play Rhys Palmer. Hislop showed promise when he played for Essendon last year, although injuries did limit his number of appearances, he should be a bargain buy in fantasy leagues. Hislop may also have position eligibility as a fantasy defender, as he did play in the back line for Essendon in 2007.
Biglands was the initial choice for this spot, but he is injured again. That means Maric, Griffin and Moran will come into consideration in fantasy leagues. As the Crows have plenty of tall forwards this season, maybe Griffin won't be needed forward, which is often where his stats come from, so Maric might be the better fantasy choice. The game on Saturday might show who the Crows’ new number 1 ruckman will be. It will also depend on their fantasy prices, but none of the Crows’ remaining ruckmen will be very expensive. Kreuzer is already impressing those at Carlton, and he should impress fantasy coaches too.
Sellar and Jetta have been in the league for a year now and both bring something that their AFL teams need, the Crows need a marking forward like Sellar and the Bombers require the pace that Jetta has.
