2007 AFL Draft Prospect: David Hill
Name: David Hill
Height: 202
Weight: 85
State: Queensland
Club(s): Zillmere
AFL Positions:
Same height and same position as the current AFL player with nearly the exact same name. David Hill is a lot thinner than David Hille, and is unlikely to ever bulk up to be as strong as the Essendon ruckman, but they do have plenty of other things in common.
Perfect Fit For:
Melbourne didn't know what they had when they agreed to move Jolly to Sydney. Paul Johnson is a versatile big but isn't going to be a number 1 ruckman, he is more of a tall option for either end. Jamar is a big ruckman but is also lacking in some areas. Hill could be a long-term project for the new Melbourne coach to teach, and it might mean that the former coach of David Hille becomes the first AFL coach for David Hill.
AFLinsider.net prediction:
He is tall and can jump, and the draft camp tests should have plenty of clubs considering him. Port Adelaide might use a 4th round choice on him. Lade only has a few years left, and Brogan won't be around much more than Lade, so they need to bring in a couple of young ruck prospects for the future.
AFL Fantasy Outlook:
Nearly all first-year fantasy ruckmen provide very few points. A long-term project like Hill wouldn't be a good addition to fantasy teams for several years.
